Junior and Youth Powerboat Training

This two-day entry level course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a powerboat.  Junior Powerboaters will  complete the RYA Level 1 Syllabus, and Youth candidates will complete the RYA Level 2 syllabus which is basis of the International Certificate of Competence (ICC).

It focuses on low speed close quarters handling, man overboard recovery, an introduction to driving at planing speed, and collision regulations. The course can be taken inland or on the coast and your certificate will be endorsed accordingly.

The Youth Powerboat Cruising course is designed for anyone who has completed an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course and would like to to build on the skills learned and to start looking at navigating and managing a boat further afield.

The course is based around the adult RYA Intermediate Course, and will look at more advanced aspects of boat handling, navigating at speed, and planning short passages by day.  It will use our new training vessels, and be delivered in a fun and informative manner by our highly experienced Advanced instructors.

Course content includes: a recap on Level 2 manoeuvres and skills, rough weather handling, navigation techniques, responsibilities as a skipper, and passage planning.
