Welcome to the Edinburgh Boat Club!

The Edinburgh Boat Club is designed to offer members exclusive access to state of the art powerboats, fitted out with the most up to date safety and navigation equipment. The Boat Club is the perfect solution for those who would like to have access to a powerboat in the Firth of Forth, and treat their family, friends and colleagues to memorable and exhilarating days out on the water without the responsibility of purchasing, maintaining, and berthing their own vessel.

The Boat Club team will be on hand to offer day to say support to members on all aspects of boating, such as passage planning, manoeuvres, or safety techniques.  Further, membership includes a 25% discount code for any training course for you or your family to ensure that your boating knowledge and skills continue to develop during your time as a Boat Club Member.

The boat is supplied to you fully fuelled at the start of each day, and apart from replacing the fuel that you use and paying for any damage incurred on your trip (outside normal wear and tear), there are no hidden costs outside the annual membership fee.  The Boat Club team will be responsible for all aspects of boat management, insurance and maintenance, so all members need to do is book their desired days, use the boat, and return it at the end of the day.  When you have used your included membership days then you can simply book additional days in a ‘pay as you go’ manner.

What is included in membership?

Three membership days included as part of the standard package, and additional days can be purchased as required

All maintenance and management costs, you just pay for the fuel that you use on the day

What training is required to become a Boat Club member?

To be a member you will need to have completed an RYA Powerboat Level 2 course which teaches you the manoeuvres to handle the boat safely, and an RYA VHF course and exam which teaches you how to communicate on the water, and an RYA Essential Navigation and Seamanship course which teaches you to navigate safely whilst on the water.  If you already hold these qualifications then you can become a member right away.  For prospective members the RYA Powerboat Level 2 course can be delivered on the boat you will be using for Boat Club, and the members discount code can be applied to this booking.
